Whistl Wins Northern Ireland Government Postal Contract

July 2021

Whistl, the UK's leading logistics specialist with its heritage in mail delivery management, has been awarded the second Northern Ireland Government postal contract following a competitive process run by the Department of Finance's Central Procurement Directorate (CPD).

The contract, which spans up to five years, follows the first contract awarded to Whistl in 2016. It covers a wide number of government and public sector bodies, including those in Education, Health, Finance, Colleges, and Transport. It sees Whistl collect, sort, and transport mail to Royal Mail for doorstep delivery.

Whistl's Northern Ireland sortation depot is situated in the Hightown Industrial Estate, Newtownabbey, Belfast. It employs drivers who collect mail from across Northern Ireland and bring it to the depot for processing.

Whistl has been operating in Northern Ireland since 2010 and is the only alternative national postal operator in the province, serving clients such as banks and utilities.

Posthub is proud to be part of the Whistl Group, together providing cost-effective postal solutions to our clients. No matter your postal need, we have services to support transactional high-volume regular mailings and campaign-specific postage across industry sectors, including retail, charities, and healthcare.

We are delighted that we have again won the contract on our ability to provide a cost-effective quality service that will benefit the Northern Ireland taxpayer through lower postal costs.
